Eastern Students Participate in Psychology Summer Research Institute
Nine students from Eastern Connecticut State University participated in a Psychology Summer Research Institute from May 14 to 18. Under the mentorship of Professors Luis Cordon and Lyndsey Lanagan-Leitze, students were introduced to topics in sensation, perception, and cognitive neuroscience.

Tracey and Gervase Garner Recognition in Empire 8 All-Conference Awards
Both Patrick Tracey '18 and Stephen Gervase '20 of the Elmira College men's tennis team received honors from the Empire 8 Conference, as announced by the league office on May 11. Tracey garnered E8 All-Conference Second-Team accolades for singles after a stellar senior campaign, while Gervase received a spot on the Sportsman of the Year Team.

Eastern Students Inducted into Biology National Honor Society
Select Eastern students were inducted into Eastern's Eta Omega chapter of the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society on April 27. The society was founded in 1922 and today has more than 175,000 lifetime members in more than 430 chapters throughout the United States. Eastern's Eta Omega Chapter at Eastern was founded in 1997.

Lasell Baseball wraps up GNAC regular season with split vs. Albertus Magnus
Four Lasell College pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout Saturday afternoon on Senior Day as the Lasers defeated Albertus Magnus College 7-0 in the nightcap to complete a split of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) baseball doubleheader at Stein Field. The Falcons hit a pair of home runs to win the first game, 6-2.

Lasell Baseball trades GNAC wins at Anna Maria
Freshman Wyatt Sihvonen (Lebanon, Conn.) went 3-for-5 with a double, two home runs and five RBIs and junior Chris Maringo (Farmingville, N.Y.) went 5-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs as Lasell College walloped Anna Maria College, 13-3, in the first game of the Great Northeast Athletic (GNAC) baseball doubleheader at the New England Baseball Complex.

'Youth' and 'Chitra' Awaken Eastern Theatregoers
Themes of youth, love and enlightenment were on display in Eastern Connecticut State University's latest theatrical production, "Awakenings: 'Youth' by Thornton Wilder and 'Chitra' by Rabindranath Tagore." From April 5-8, the two one-act plays transformed Eastern's DelMonte Bernstein Studio Theatre into a tropical island and then into a lush Hindu dreamscape.

Eastern's Cross Country Teams End Seasons at NCAA New England Regionals
The Eastern Connecticut State University men's and women's cross country teams both had seasons to remember in fall 2017. For the women, this was the first season in 25 years they placed in the top half of the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship. The program also won its first LEC Championship this year. For the men, this was their fourth season in a row competing in the regionals, where the team put together a formidable performance.

The theatre program at Eastern Connecticut State University presented the holiday classic "Little Women" from Nov. 28-Dec. 3. The play took place in the intimate venue of Eastern's DelMonte Bernstein Studio Theatre, with a special emphasis on being "sensory-friendly" for audience members with spectrum disorders.

Eastern Jazz Musicians Present December Concerts
Jazz music is in the air at Eastern Connecticut State University. Two concerts featuring student performers hit the main stage this December, including the Jazz Ensemble and 3 O'Clock Band, which performed on Dec. 1 and Dec. 4 respectively. Both concerts took place in the Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC) Concert Hall.
